Richard Gere uses a sleep device to prevent snoring

Washington, Sept 15(ANI): Hollywood actor, Richard Gere, is using a bizarre sleep device in order to keep him from snoring.

The actor had checked into a New York "sleep clinic" for his snoring problem, and got a revolutionary headgear as a solution.

"This is a device that fits in your mouth... It forces (your jaw) open and forward, so that your throat stays open, and it's horrific." Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

The star said that the headgear reminds him of the horrific torture devices that were used in a disturbing cult movie, 'A Clockwork Orange'.

"I haven't slept in six months because I have this thing in," he said.

But Gere's efforts have provided a huge relief to his sleep-deprived wife, Carey Lowell.

"It got to the point where she wasn't getting any sleep... so I actually told her one day, `Look, I'm gonna go to the sleep clinic,' he said.

"And she started crying because she was so happy that I was gonna do something about this," he added. (ANI)
